The second limited edition release featuring the great Bambino, Remus Babe Ruth Reserve 2025 ups the ante with a higher aged, more complex blend than the series’ inaugural 2024 edition.

The 2025 edition of Remus Babe Ruth Bourbon is a collaboration between Ross & Squibb Distillery and the estate of Babe Ruth. It’s the second release under this label and is composed of three bourbons spanning three different mashbills; one was distilled in 2016, and two were distilled in 2017. The 2025 edition of Remus Babe Ruth Reserve is a total of 8,399 numbered bottles, a nod to Ruth’s baseball career as one for each of his at-bats over his professional career.

The bourbon is nicely balanced and aptly proofed, featuring spice, sweet, and oak components with hints of fruit on the nose. The aroma features notes of apricot, orange peel, and baking spices, rounded out by toffee. Baking spices spill over forcefully into the sip, followed by tempering flavors of crème brûlée, seared caramel, graham cracker, and pastry. The finish brings more spice in the form of rye, along with tapering caramel and vanilla custard. A toasted oak note comes into focus, and the sip ends with lingering spice.

Remus Babe Ruth Reserve is a centered, easy-to-enjoy bourbon. It plays in traditional flavor territory and offers ample intensity of flavor throughout. Its collectability value is reflected in its price tag, and while it is high, there is little doubt fans of the Bambino and bourbon will be satisfied with the 2025 edition.
