About Us

Breaking Bourbon was created by three lifelong friends who share a passion for bourbon and whiskey. The goal for the site is simple - to use as a forum for us to get together and have a good time, grab a drink, and break down what we’re tasting and thinking.

We welcome any comments you have. A whiskey’s beauty is in the eye, [or nose and palate we should say], of the beholder and we want to know what you think.

We hope you enjoy visiting Breaking Bourbon as much as we enjoy creating it.

Cheers,
Eric, Nick & Jordan

Jordan Moskal

Co-Founder Breaking Bourbon

Jordan's love for America’s Native Spirit started over 18 years ago while living in Louisville, Kentucky. A leading authority in bourbon and American whiskey, Jordan loves sharing his knowledge with others as they start on their own whiskey journey. Jordan currently resides in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where the ghosts of the Whiskey Rebellion continue to influence and fuel his passion for his favorite brown spirit.

Nick Beiter

Co-Founder Breaking Bourbon

While bourbon crossed his path from time to time, his real journey started many years ago with a visit to Kentucky. Years later, bourbon’s role was solidified as it became synonymous with enjoying a glass in the company of close friends. Nick enjoys introducing others to bourbon by sharing his experience - and listening to theirs - no matter what stage they are in their bourbon journey. A lifelong New Yorker, Nick currently resides in Syracuse, New York with his wife and three children.

Eric Hasman

Co-Founder Breaking Bourbon

Despite living in central New York, he didn’t let a mere 700 miles from Louisville, Kentucky hinder his love for America’s spirit. With a fellow member of Breaking Bourbon living in Kentucky, frequent trips to bourbon’s birthplace continued to foster his love for the spirit. With a background in journalism, his passion for bourbon fuels his writing with a goal to inspire fellow bourbon enthusiasts to learn more about their favorite spirit. Eric currently resides in Syracuse, New York with his wife and two daughters.
