Lost Lantern Far-Flung Bourbon IV is an ambitious, high proof blend of straight bourbons from seven different distilleries that delivers a bold, impactful sip.

Lost Lantern’s Spring 2026 Collection explores the difference between high proof and low proof whiskeys, showcasing both the intensity of cask strength whiskeys and the balance and approachability of lower proof ones. The collection includes the new Far-Flung Bourbon 100 Proof alongside a stronger cask strength version, plus eight single casks paired by proof from distilleries across the U.S - some of which have never been featured by Lost Lantern before.

The Lost Lantern Far-Flung series has always been an ambitious experiment for Lost Lantern. Blending bourbons from different distilleries isn’t new, but making a point to call out distilleries by name and shine a spotlight on the curation process continues to be unique, and Lost Lantern is leading this movement. The difference between what Barrell Craft Spirits does and what Lost Lantern (and a few others) are doing is purposely vetting distilleries that are known for their own distillate but usually don’t sell their distillate to others for blending, and doing so with full disclosure of their inclusion in the final blend.

Lost Lantern does a great job putting a spotlight on lesser known distilleries, and if you had any of their previous releases, then you are aware of their boldness. Often barreled north of 130 proof, they are typically forceful sips. Even Far Flung IV’s 120 proof offers a bold pour, combining seven distilleries to maximum effect.

This far-reaching blend does run into some difficulties keeping things well-defined. With the amount that is going on, it comes at you with a bold front. Comparatively, the 100 proof version is more well tempered, though clarity isn’t necessarily improved. It seems clear that the end goal when blending seven different distilleries’ bourbons isn’t precision, but impact.

Though far from straightforward, Far-Flung IV does feature flavors that stand out over others. Dark raspberry, black cherry, and rich barrel char are most prominent in the bourbon's aroma. The palate goes big on charred oak and brown sugar, while the finish introduces stewed cherries, cinnamon bark, and seasoned oak nicely.

You don’t go into Lost Lantern’s Far-Flung series for subtlety. Simply by the nature of how the blend comes together, they are bold and take big swings. They’re fun “What if” blends that combine people's favorite craft distilleries into something new.

Lost Lantern Blend Series: Far-Flung Bourbon IV is a 120 bottle release.
