The second batch of this celebrity-backed bourbon, Full Ryde Bourbon Batch #002-25 sees a dramatic reduction in price coupled with excellent balance and overall drinkability.
Full Ryde Bourbon is an ambitious new American whiskey brand developed by Jam 2021, LLC, positioning itself in the premium bourbon space. The brand was co-founded by former NFL player Jared Allen, along with the founder and host of the Chi-Tucky Bourbon Brothers podcast, Mike Nielsen. The bourbon is produced and bottled by Middle West Spirits using sourced Indiana and Kentucky bourbons. This second batch follows the first limited edition batch, which was released in March 2026. The batches are similar in overall details, but by comparison, this second batch sees an increase of wheat bourbon barrels in the blend, along with a proof reduction from 122 to 115 based on flavor profile considerations.
Celebrity-backed whiskeys are a varied bunch, and each is met with initial skepticism. Like the first batch, batch #002-25 nails quality right out of the gate. It’s bright and lively with fruit notes and ample sweetness throughout, but grounded by savory notes of oak, leather, and tobacco. On the nose, there’s a pop of apricot right up front, with honey, stone fruits, brown sugar, and a subtle crème brûlée scent layered in against grounding leather. The palate is nicely balanced, with ample sweetness from brown sugar, stone fruits, and vanilla cream, accented by light cinnamon spice. The finish is medium length with cinnamon spilling over and joining with raisin, cherry, aged oak, and leather.
The first batch was impressive, and the only criticism we had for it was the asking price. The suggested price for this second batch is significantly lower than the first. Clocking in at $100 per 750mL compared to the first’s $295, the brand delivered a whopping reduction in price of nearly 70%. The bourbon is traditionally inspired, finding a steady balance between bright sweet flavors and oak influence from the higher-aged barrels in the blend. It doesn’t scream wow per se, but instead offers an excellent rich flavor and overall drinkability.
