Whiskey Row Bourbon Bottled in Bond is full of classic bourbon flavors, which deliver a quintessential “bourbon sip.”
The Whiskey Row brand is a tribute to an area on Louisville’s Main Street called Whiskey Row from 1850 until Prohibition. That same area has since been revitalized with a number of bourbon establishments opening up shop. The company created three whiskeys that are a nod to pre-Prohibition blending methods as part of their inaugural release, including Bottled in Bond, Triple Wood, and Cask Strength. The concept of Whiskey Row Bourbon was initially conceived by Bourbon Hall of Fame inductee Steve Thompson before his passing in 2021. The brand’s Bottled in Bond expression is distilled at Kentucky Artisan Distillery, which is best known for their distillation of Jefferson’s Bourbon.
The first thought that popped into my head after trying Whiskey Row Bourbon Bottled in Bond is “classic.” Throughout the entirety of its sip, classic bourbon flavors continued to bubble to the top. It starts with a nose that, while it contains a dab of light ethanol, delivers an aroma full of classic, pleasing scents that start things off on solid footing. The pleasing midpoint focuses on various spices along with sweet vanilla that adds a nice balance. Finishing on a shorter note, the sip is concentrated around cinnamon cake, chewy oak, and a pleasing rye spice. It’s a straightforward yet pleasing pour that is classic through and through.
