Aimed at die-hard fans of The Allman Brothers Band, Three Chords’ first premium Backstage Series release of 2025 delivers a pleasing blend at a high price.

Following up on their enjoyable 2024 Backstage Series: The Allman Brothers Band release, Three Chord is back with another release honoring the band. For last year's release, the company took a blend of younger bourbons and finished them with toasted peach wood. For 2025, the company states that the whiskey “is a unique mix of 9-year Kentucky bourbon and 11-year whiskey from Tennessee, blended and finished in peach brandy barrels from George Washington’s historic Mount Vernon Distillery.” Compared to last year, the jump in proof and age of the whiskeys used in the blend comes at a price, though, as the Legacy Edition sells for four times the price.

While the company doesn’t reveal how long the blended whiskey was finished in peach brandy barrels, the impact from the barrel isn’t overly aggressive, which is in line with 2024’s Backstage Series. The whiskey opens with a pleasing aroma that highlights oak along with sweet scents of brown sugar, grilled peaches, vanilla bean, and a caramel drizzle. The palate transitions to more grounded notes of charred oak and burnt caramel along with spice flavors, while the finish pulls in spice and drier notes, which result in a gentle lingering spice. Overall, this is a pleasing blend that’s gently influenced by its finishing barrel. Considering the pricing premium associated with the Legacy Edition release, this whiskey will be aimed at more die-hard The Allman Brothers Band fans.
