Blue Run has been on a roll with their previous 13 Year Bourbon and 13.5 Year Single Barrel Bourbon. As expected, the company is rolling out a 14 Year Small Batch Bourbon overseen by Jim Rutledge, the company’s Liquid Advisor, which has to be one of the coolest titles in the industry!

What makes the 14 year stand out from their previous releases is its overall texture compared to the previous releases. This roughness doesn’t impact its quality, but has more to do with its impact. The bourbon's oak content is more robust, featuring more dryness, and packs much more heat this time around. It works well in contrast to the company’s previous releases - especially the 13 Year, which was subtle and delicate. The 14 Year Small Batch doesn’t have the punch of a typical barrel proof bourbon, yet it's still very much more of a burly type of bourbon. While it doesn’t quite reach the height of the previous two releases, it’s very well constructed and its french toast-tasting palate is a real treat.
