Press Release

Chattanooga, TN, June 25, 2021 – Chattanooga Whiskey today announced the first release of their Bottled in Bond Vintage Series: Spring 2017. Exclusively crafted at their Riverfront Distillery, the release marks a new permanent addition to the Chattanooga Whiskey Family of Brands.

"We continue to push the boundaries of what Tennessee High Malt can be, and this might be one of our most complex expressions yet, both in product and package,” said Tim Piersant, CEO and Founder, “This release is an original work of art that I don't believe you can compare with any other bottle of bourbon in the market.”

To be labeled Bottled in Bond, the bourbon must be the product of one distillation season, one distiller, and from one distillery. Legally, it must be aged in a federally bonded warehouse for at least four years and bottled at 100 proof. This release meets these standards, but is also a Bottled in Bond expression unlike any other.

This Bottled in Bond release is the single-season, vintage-dated expression of Chattanooga Whiskey’s Tennessee High Malt style. The Spring 2017 Vintage is crafted from a selection of four unique high malt bourbon mash bills – all made within the same distilling season - and each composed of at least 25% specialty malted grains. The result is an innovative approach to one of the industry’s most time-honored quality standards.

“Since the inception of our Experimental Distillery in 2015, our team of distillers have created hundreds of unique bourbon mash bills. A selection of our favorite recipes were scaled to our Riverfront Distillery,” said Grant McCracken, Head Distiller, “These recipes make up our 2017 Bottled in Bond Vintage Series. Each recipe has its own signature qualities that make it unique and special – and blended together, they are greater than the sum of their parts.”

Barreled January through June 2017, this 100 proof Tennessee High Malt expression is medium-bodied, delivering tasting notes of spiced fruit, plums, wildflower honey and butterscotch with a structured, wine-like finish. Chattanooga Whiskey Bottled in Bond will be available in Tennessee, Georgia, Texas, Florida, Illinois and the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental Distillery at a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750ml bottle.
