Blue Run Spirits
GEORGETOWN, KY (August 19, 2025) – Blue Run Spirits continues to push the boundaries of inventive Bourbon releases with the debut of Glimmer, a limited-edition 103.2 proof Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey finished in gin barrels. Breaking from tradition, the micro-batch, barrel proof expression delivers an unexpected yet elegantly balanced flavor profile, reflecting Blue Run’s commitment to innovation in whiskey craftsmanship.
Crafted by Shaylyn Gammon, Coors Spirits Co. Head of Whiskey Development and Innovation, Glimmer is her first barrel-finished Bourbon release for Blue Run, and the second finished release for the brand. The finish is designed to elevate the top and middle notes of the bourbon by finishing it in Barr Hill Tom Cat Gin barrels—toasted and charred American oak barrels that previously held a singular botanical gin for 7 to 12 months.
“The barrels used in most secondary finishes tend to accentuate the base notes of the whiskey,” said Gammon. “I chose to use gin barrels because I wanted the liquid to deliver a fresh take on a classic—whether sipped neat or in a cocktail.”
Glimmer’s sensory profile includes:
NOSE: Delicate botanical aromas with a hint of soft pine
PALATE: Honeyed sweetness balanced by cardamom spice and subtle herbal tones
FINISH: Harmonious barrel toast and char, with layers of cocoa-rich complexity
Glimmer offers a bold yet refined drinking experience with nuanced botanical character that defies expectations and invites exploration. The release is reflective of the artistry and creativity of the award-winning Blue Run limited release lineup, including, most recently, Flight Series III, Trifecta, and Ember.
Fewer than 90 cases of Glimmer Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Gin Barrels are available with a suggested retail price of $149.99.
The Blue Run Glimmer bottle features a special iridescent effect in the glass purposely selected to compliment Gammon’s first finished whiskey release from Blue Run Spirits. Each bottle is adorned with a soft violet viceroy butterfly medallion complementing the prismatic effect of the glass
Glimmer is rolling out to retail accounts throughout August and National Bourbon Month. Find a retailer here.

About Coors Spirits Co.
Coors Spirits Co. was established in 2023 to house Molson Coors’ growing spirits division as part of the company’s shift from a beer company to a total beverage company. Molson Coors’ entry into spirits began with the 2021 launch of Five Trail Blended American Whiskey, which gained quick accolades that included Double Gold at the 2022 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. In spring 2023, the company added Barmen 1873 Bourbon (a reference to the hometown of Coors Brewing founder Adolph Coors and the year he established the brewery in Golden, Colo.) to its lineup. And in August of 2023, Molson Coors acquired Blue Run Spirits of Georgetown, Ky, a distiller of luxury bourbons and rye whiskies to complement the portfolio. Further innovation is planned for the years to come.
