Music and bourbon have gone hand in hand since the whiskey itself was invented. Nothing is more enjoyable than firing up your favorite artist and sipping on your favorite bourbon in the waning hours of late summer. There’s something magical that happens when you inundate your senses with your favorite things all at once.

The whole experience becomes even better when you can do this while listening to live music. That’s why we’re excited to announce that we’ll be traveling down to Louisville, KY to attend and cover the 2018 Bourbon & Beyond festival taking place on Saturday and Sunday, September 22nd - 23rd. Both the artist lineup and bourbon selection look great, and we’re excited to experience it all in person. Keep reading to find out how you can win one of four pairs of tickets we'll be giving away.

In honor of our upcoming festival trip, we thought it would be fun to pair up each of the four headliners with a bourbon being served at the festival.

John Mayer + Pappy Van Winkle
John Mayer has managed to stay at the top of his game since the very beginning, and his legend continues to grow. Pappy Van Winkle needs no introduction and the legend seems to double in size with each passing year. It’s been rumored that the classic Mayer line “your body is a wonderland” is actually in reference to Pappy himself, but we can’t quite confirm that. We can, however, confirm that writing that previous line was impossible to do with a straight face.

Sting + Blanton’s
Sting gets better with age and has a song catalog and sound that most artists would kill for. Blanton’s Single Barrel Bourbon is often heralded as the prime example of what single barrel bourbon should be. You might not be able to spell Sting with the Blanton’s bottle tops, but you can belt out Roxanne while enjoying a glass nonetheless.

Robert Plant & The Sensational Space Shifters + Wild Turkey
Robert Plant is classic rock and roll at its finest. Wild Turkey is an iconic classic bourbon. The two oldie but goodies pair hand-in-hand perfectly. Enough said.

Lenny Kravitz + Barrell Bourbon
Lenny Kravitz is an artist who is constantly changing it up and rocks out to all sorts of genres. Much like Lenny, Barrell Bourbon is a bourbon that thrives on taking a different approach with each release, constantly blending bourbons and whiskeys from all over. The end result for both is the same, a product that may taste different each time, but consistently delivers solid results.

David Byrne + Jefferson’s Bourbon
David Byrne’s experimental modern pop sound has resenated ever since his time in the Talking Heads. Like Byrne, Jefferson’s bourbon is constantly pushing the limit and experimenting when it comes to aging bourbon. Both push the limits of their craft to produce unexpected but pleasant results.

Counting Crows + Four Roses
Counting Crows are, if nothing else, dependable when it comes to classic hits that people can’t help but sing along to. Four Roses produces ten different recipes from two different mashbills and five different yeast strains that allows the brand to produce something for everyone. Find your favorite and belt out to Mr. Jones with no shame, we’ll be right there with you.

Sheryl Crow + Knob Creek
Sheryl Crow’s country pop style is fun with a bit of bite, and always brings the fun. Knob Creek Single Barrel brings a great taste, yet will sneak up on you with its 120 proof. Crow stated it best by saying “If it makes you happy, It can't be that bad.” We agree which is why we always recommend a second pour of Knob for good measure.
