Pick #27 is a WIlderness Trail Barrel Proof Bourbon in partnership with De Wine Spot. This is our third pick with our friends at De Wine Spot which is located in Brooklyn, NY.

Wilderness Trail has been putting out some consistently good bourbon, and our latest pick is a prime example of this. Full of classic bourbon flavors, we were most pulled to the fact of how well it blended in bold sweetness. A caramel bomb, this bourbon is a sweet, easy-drinker making it one to crave!

Wilderness Trail is an up-and-coming distillery, but despite that one that has proved its merits time and time again. For this pick we decided to go with a Lord of the Rings concept. "The Wilderness of the Trail" jokingly came up, and the more we thought about it the more it became clear. As we tasted through barrels it was clear to us the one we needed to choose. There could only be one barrel to rule them all, and this was it. It had to be ours and we aptly called it “My Precious.”

Tasting Notes:

Nose: Big caramel | Aged oak | Tobacco

Palate: Caramel chews | Brown sugar | Graham cracker | Aged oak | Spice | Sweet overall

Finish: Caramel sweetness | Peppercorns | Leather | Spice tapers but sweet note lingers

“A caramel bomb, this bourbon is a sweet, easy-drinker making it one to crave!”
