Don’t let the proof fool you, Penelope Bourbon Barrel Strength Batch 12 packs a punch at under 114 proof, that is sure to please those who enjoy a bold, spicy bourbon.

Now 12 batches deep into their flagship barrel proof bourbon, Penelope has proven their ability to produce a consistent, quality product that blends multiple mashbills from MGP. The resulting product is labeled four grain because it includes both rye and wheat in addition to corn and malted barley.

Falling in a similar proof range as previous batches, Batch 12 is surprisingly spicy across the board. The spice is complemented by sweet flavors, hints of fruit, and some savory notes. Despite the presence of the sweeter flavors, the spice still punches through as the highlight of the sip and it makes for an enjoyable combination. As a result, Batch 12 will certainly please anyone looking for a bold, spicy barrel proof bourbon.
