Bardstown Bourbon Company’s Fusion Series #8 brings traditional Kentucky bourbon flavors together in a well integrated format with splashes of fruit and spice.
According to Bardstown Bourbon Company, “The Fusion Series celebrates the blending of newer and older bourbons to create something unique. The younger spirits are 100% our own product mellowed with hand- selected, supremely aged bourbon that beautifully complements our specific recipes. As we grow, our bourbon ages — a difference you can taste with each Fusion release.”
A simpler blend of only three bourbons compared to what Bardstown usually brings to the table, Fusion Series #8 is a crowd-pleaser. It’s centered on a more traditional caramel note that provides the base of the whiskey, which is highlighted by fruit and spice notes. Its 95.5 proof is robust enough, but manageable at the same time, which should appeal to a wide range of bourbon drinkers. Yet, Fusion Series #8 doesn’t take many risks with its flavor profile, keeping it easy to like at the cost of standing out as a truly unique whiskey. At $65, it’s a quality blend that’s worth the asking price.
