Press Release

Pittsburgh, PENNSYLVANIA (October 30, 2020) — The elves at Wigle Whiskey usually start working in July to prepare releases for holiday season. This year, they have been busier than in any of their past nine years, producing, bottling and labeling all of their more than dozen specialty holiday releases so that all holiday releases are ready to ship the week before Thanksgiving. Heeding the warnings of shipping partners and anticipating higher than ever online bottle sales, Wigle is encouraging its customers to lock in their holiday purchases early this year, before bottles and shipping timelines run out.

For the week of November 16 only, Wigle will include a free bottle of their City of Champions Hand Sanitizer for the first 250 orders placed online and picked up at a Wigle location. Wigle has just 250 of these bottles on hand; all others have been donated to first responders. The Distillery has no plans to produce more. Additionally, the Distillery will offer free shipping on all orders of more than $100.

Wigle will also showcase its entire line up of a dozen new Holiday products ready for pre-order, shipping and pickup the week of November 16, including a couple that are particularly pertinent to this Covid holiday season.

The most on-the-nose Covid holiday release from Wigle is its 500 Limited Edition Prohibition Flask Sets ($65). These offer quarantine relief in a tongue and cheek nod to this year. A flask of Straight American Whiskey is labeled as Quarantine Solution and promises to “maximize mirth among relations in close quarters.” It is joined by a flask of Straight Rye Whiskey, called Conversation Fluid and a third flask of Eye Opener Extract, or Wigle Gin. The flask set comes in a Prohibition themed gift box, harkening back to the last period in America in which whiskey was offered for its “medicinal” values.

This is just one of several flask sets Wigle has on offer this holiday season. Another, pulls together three or Wigle’s delicious new ready-to-drink cocktails in a 3 Flask Set ($49). This set includes a Bottled Manhattan, Old Fashioned and the newest addition to the line-up, it’s Bottled Sazerac, named Bird in Hand, for the inventor of the Sazerac cocktail.

All Wigle holiday releases are limited and expected to sell out before Christmas. Orders can be placed for pick up at one of three area Wigle locations--at the Distillery in the Strip District, the Bottle Shop at Ross Park Mall, or the Holiday Pop Up Shop at Bakery Square in the East End. Additionally online shoppers can ship directly to their homes in Pennsylvania and Washington DC.
