THREE CHORD BOURBON –

There’s a new limited-edition bourbon hitting shelves across the country that’s sure to strike a chord with more than a few whiskey lovers.

This September, Three Chord Bourbon will release their latest offering, a fifteen-year-old barrel proof Straight Kentucky Bourbon that they’re calling Whiskey Drummer. Two small batches of ten barrels each will be released across fifteen states, with a total production of less than 2,500 bottles and an MSRP of $189.99.

So, what exactly can you expect from this new release? The nose jumps out of the glass with campfire, baking spice, and dark chocolate. This bourbon is heavy on the pallet but surprisingly well balanced, considering its age. There is oak, but it’s not overpowering at all. Instead, notes of walnut, leather, smoke, vanilla, and allspice linger for an exceptionally long finish.

This release is a departure from Three Chord’s core lineup, all consisting of whiskeys blended together from multiple distilleries.

“We wanted to shake up the industry (with our core lineup) yet maintain respect for the tradition and legacy of heritage bourbons, to look at the process differently,” said co-founder Neil Giraldo.
