Press Release

LOUISVILLE, KY  (December 3, 2019) - Fourteen brands will come together to get attendees of Bourbon & Benevolence into the holiday spirit on Thursday, December 12th. The fundraiser is hosted by KOBBE, the local philanthropy-based bourbon enthusiasts club, and brings together good bourbon, classic soul and charity.

Guests will enjoy passed hors d'oeurves and a buffet station, while sipping tastings and cocktails from some of the most sought after brands. Russell's Reserve ®, Bulleit Bourbon Distillery, Heaven Hill Distillery, Uncle Nearest Premium Whisky, Michter's Distillery, Smooth Ambler Spirits, Maker's Mark, Jeptha Creed Distillery, New Riff Distilling, Limestone Branch Distillery, Old Forester, Rolling Fork Rum, and Old 502 Winery will all be represented. The Mocktail Project will also be on hand mixing impressive mocktails for the non-drinkers and designated drivers.

Attendees will also have the special opportunity to taste Michter's 20 year old bourbon (while supplies last), and the chance to get their hands on rare and allocated bottles of bourbons (including Michter's 20 year), unique distillery experiences, and more in the live and silent auction.

Russell's Reserve® will immerse guests in a BoUrban Adventure, by transforming the mezzanine level into an urban camp site, complete with a 10-foot bell tent furnished with blankets and pillows for guests to lounge with a cocktail in hand. Brand Ambassador JoAnn Street, granddaughter of the legendary Jimmy Russell, will lead tastings of Russell's Reserve Single Barrel, pulled straight from the barrel, while sharing the history and tasting notes of this award-winning bourbon.

With an environment open to all guests 21 and over, the Bourbon & Benevolence experience is curated to combine bourbon with African-American culture. The event sold out in its first year, and the organizers are focused on creating an even more elevated experience this year.

"We've genuinely thought of everything from the curb when you arrive, to the last call," says Jamar Mack, president and founder of KOBBE. "The experience, from the passed hors d'oeuvres to the seating and brand activations, is built around comfort. We want guests to feel completely at ease while enjoying all of the brands we've brought together under one roof."

Bourbon & Benevolence will be held Thursday, December 12 from 6:30pm-10pm at the Ice House, 226 East Washington Street. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Chestnut Street Family YMCA.

Tickets are $65, or $110 for couple/pair. Food + Mocktail only tickets are available for $40. Tickets can be purchased online at http://bit.ly/BourbonBenevolence2019.
