Hinterhaus Distilling
Arnold, California. For Immediate Release, Aug 25, 2025- The Sierra Nevada distillery announces the release of its 4th and final bottling of Trapper’s Oath Rye Whiskey- 21 Year age statement on August 29, 2025.
“Nearly 4 years ago, we embarked on a whiskey aging and blending adventure with our first release of TRAPPER'S OATH rye whiskey,” says Nate Randall, Head Distiller/Blender/Owner of Hinterhaus. “It has proven to be one of the most memorable whiskeys we’ve yet had the pleasure of working with.”
The 3 prior batches have long since sold out, with rye whiskey and extra-aged whiskey enthusiasts patiently awaiting for the 4th bottling. The distillery worked with a carefully selected extra-aged rye whiskey (53% rye 47%) corn from Canada by extending its aging process at Hinterhaus’ 4000ft elevation in the California Sierra mountains.
“We age traditionally in our distillery’s non-temp controlled aging warehouse which enjoys 4 distinctive seasons and plenty of drastic temperature swings throughout the year,” explains Hinterhaus co-owner Bonnie Boglioli-Randall. “We chose a road less travelled for this special rye by putting it into our own ex-bourbon casks which also aged stout beer for a nearby brewery for over 3 years.”
