Press Release

As Copperworks Distilling Co. expands and puts the finishing touches on Copperworks Tavern, coming soon to Copperworks Kenmore, it’s inviting whiskey fans to claim permanent recognition at Copperworks Tavern.

To support the award-winning distillery’s expansion, Copperworks has launched the Copperworks Tavern Founders Club.

FOUNDERS CLUB PERKS

Through the Founders Club, supporters locally and nationwide can secure an ultra-rare 10-year-old American Single Malt Whiskey (Single Cask No. 003-2), invitations to the soft opening, venue gift cards, and their names permanently displayed inside the tavern.

ABOUT THE EXPANSION

As previously announced, Copperworks is doubling its footprint along the Burke-Gilman Trail in Kenmore, WA. Located on the same grounds as the existing Copperworks Barrel House and De La Soil farm-to-table restaurant, the new addition introduces Copperworks Tavern and Whiskey Garden alongside Ember BBQ, a new globally-inspired barbecue restaurant from Chefs Cody and Andrea Westerfield of De La Soil.

“For the past three years, we have watched Copperworks Kenmore grow into a community gathering place, becoming a hub filled with weekly events, pop-up markets, live music, dance nights, an annual Plum Festival, Oktoberfest festivities, farm-to-table fare, special chef dinners, Copperworks cocktails and spirits, and much more,” said Jason Parker, president and co-founder of Copperworks Distilling Co.

“It has been an incredible journey, and we couldn’t be more thrilled to be expanding into our new Copperworks Tavern space to continue growing what makes Copperworks Kenmore so special,” said Jeff Kanof,  vice president and co-owner of Copperworks Distilling Co.

“We couldn’t build this without each and every one of you, and are so grateful for every shared smile, kind words after a live performance, and outlandish trivia team name,” added Parker. “The opportunity is available to all fans of Copperworks Distilling, not just those local to Kenmore, Washington!“

Introducing Single Cask No. 003-2 (10-Year American Single Malt Whiskey)

To create an exclusive release for Founders Club members, Copperworks drew from some of its oldest whiskey stock and selected Cask 003-2. Distilled from the distillery's original Five Malt recipe (the same recipe behind Maltsmith), this whiskey was matured for 10 years in a previously used Copperworks American Single Malt Whiskey Cask,  a historic cask that originally held spirits used in Copperworks' legendary Release 001. Bottled at 110 proof (55% ABV), it delivers rich intensity on the palate while highlighting delicate, layered aromas.

Tasting Notes

The nose opens with golden apple, soft wood, and custard, followed by heather and black tea. On the palate, caramelized honey and angel food cake mingle with apple skin, stewed pear, and wildflower. The finish brings toasted cereal grains and suede, layered with jackfruit, pink peppercorn, fresh mint, and cocoa nib.

About Copperworks Distilling Company ~ 2018 Distillery of the Year

Opened in 2013, Copperworks Distilling Company is an award-winning craft distillery, tasting room, and gift shop located in the high-traffic waterfront tourist district of downtown Seattle. The distillery produces small-batch American Single Malt Whiskey, a series of gins, and vodka, all from malted barley. Copperworks was founded by co-owners/distillers Jason Parker and Micah Nutt ~ both craft brewers with more than 30 years of experience in the alcohol industry. They built the distillery to answer the question: “How would spirits taste if they were distilled from superior craft beer (without the hops) instead of the typical methods of ingredients of conventional distilleries?” The answer led Copperworks to become a pioneer in producing American Single Malt Whiskey, a fast-growing spirits category with substantial national and international market interest. Copperworks’ spirits are distilled in traditional copper stills that were specifically created in Scotland for the distillery, and for the distillation of each individual spirit. Copperworks’ high-quality craft spirits have been recognized with multiple national and international awards, and the company was named the 2018 Distillery of the Year by the American Distilling Institute. In addition, Copperworks’ whiskey and gin have won Double-Gold medals and scored 94 – 96 points in prestigious spirits competitions. Copperworks spirits are found on the shelves of bars, restaurants, and retail stores throughout Washington State. Copperworks also offers tastings, tours, and other events focused on enjoying and learning about fine distilled spirits, including its ‘hands-on’ single-malt whiskey blending workshop. Copperworks was voted Best Distillery in the
2023 Best In The PNW contest presented by The Seattle Times. Where to Find Copperworks at Bars and Restaurants: https://copperworksdistilling.com/bar-and-restaurants. To learn more about Copperworks, please visit:  https://copperworksdistilling.com.
