Press Release

Chattanooga, TN (July 2025) – Chattanooga Whiskey has announced the newest release in their award-winning Experimental Single Batch Series: Batch 044: Bourbon Barreled Limecello. Infused just in time for summer, this  marks the third rendition in the distillery’s evolving range of citrus-based “cellos,” which are made with 100%  real whiskey and infused with all-natural ingredients.

“Every Experimental Single Batch is an opportunity for our distillers to say something new. And while we  never really repeat the same idea twice, our distillers are open to revisiting and reimagining a handful of concepts.  First came our Limoncello in 2023, then came our Citracello in 2024, and now we have our Limecello in 2025.”
- Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller

Made with the distillery’s signature "Barrel 91" mash bill – and over 130 pounds of citrus peel – this is the first  time the company has utilized 100% column distilled whiskey in a liqueur, which they say accentuates the bright  fruity and floral character from the infusion of lime peel, lemon peel, and galangal root.

“One of the main reasons we believe our liqueurs are so popular is that each one utilizes 100% real whiskey  and real ingredients, which gives us full control over the infusion’s flavor profile. But another part of controlling  flavor comes from the distillation process – particularly how it highlights certain flavors from those infusions. So,  where the Limoncello and Citracello benefitted from a portion of congener-rich pot distilled whiskey, the Limecello  benefits from exclusively using our more floral herbaceous whiskey from our 30ft column still."
- Grant McCracken, Founding Distiller

Made from a batch of only five barrels, Batch 044 was finished for nearly three months in single-use Tennessee High Malt barrels, which imparted additional layers of sweet vanilla-like complexity to the finished  liqueur. Bottled at 83.2 proof, the final liqueur balances the impact of each citrus type, the barrel finishing  process, and the subtle earthy character from galangal root

Batch 044: Bourbon Barreled Limecello
will be available at the Chattanooga Whiskey Experimental  Distillery starting Thursday, July 3, at $44.99 for a 750ml bottle, and available online for shipping to select  states on Seelbachs.com. Bottled at 83.2 proof, expect notes of key lime pie, lemon meringue, orange  blossom tea, lemongrass, and jasmine.
