Press Release

Chattanooga, TN (April, 2022) – Chattanooga Whiskey today announced its Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blend. Formulated by Founder & CEO Tim Piersant, this release marks a major milestone for the company. “We are not only celebrating 10 years of Chattanooga Whiskey,” said Tim Piersant, “but also celebrating the blending of the past, present, and future of Chattanooga Whiskey.”

In the Spring of 2012, Chattanooga Whiskey began blending and bottling “1816” - an award-winning whiskey that helped overturn century old distilling laws. While eventually succeeded by their own signature “Barrel 91” recipe, the whiskey’s impact has never been forgotten.

Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blend is a blend of three whiskey recipes distilled in both Chattanooga, TN, and Lawrenceburg, IN - including two Tennessee High Malt mash bills, known as “smoked” and “SB091.” “The combination of traditional and innovative mash bills showcases the unique influence and balance between the three whiskeys,” said Grant McCracken, Head Distiller, “the flavor profile boasts of notes of root beer float, black cherry, toasted oak & toffee bar, with hints of cedar and sweet smoke.”

After 3-4 years of primary and secondary aging, casks of the original "1816" recipe (the third mash bill featured in the blend - known as “1816RES”) are transferred into Chattanooga Whiskey’s 650 gallon charred oak 1816 Barrel. Here, casks of different ages marry together until ready for inclusion into the Anniversary Blend.

Founder’s 10th Anniversary Blend is bottled at 100 proof and crafted exclusively at the Chattanooga Whiskey Riverfront Distillery. More information about each mash bill is available at chattwhiskey.com/mashbills. Available at a suggested retail price of $49.99 for a 750ml bottle.
