Press Release

Lexington, KY- All across the country businesses are opening their doors after what seems like years—and Bluegrass Distillers, a Lexington, KY craft distillery founded in 2012, is opening barrels that have been sealed for over four. Bluegrass Distillers is excited to announce the release of its first ever four year, Bottled-in-Bond bourbon, on July 20, 2020.

Bottled-in-Bond bourbons must be made by one distillery in one season, aged at least four years in a federally bonded warehouse, and bottled at 100 proof in order to highlight the skill of the distiller.

With a mash bill of 20% rye and 80% yellow corn, this bourbon is a true high rye that showcases the best flavors the grain has to offer. A forest green label with metallic bronze lettering and a jockey silk logo emblazons the bottle, calling to mind both the spicy nature of winning thoroughbreds and a meticulously hand-crafted rye bourbon. This bold, limited edition bottle will make a handsome addition to anyone’s bourbon shelf.

“It’s crazy to think that our first batches were made way back in 2013, and now here we are about to release our first Bottled-in-Bond bourbon. We’ve been blessed to have a team committed to crafting high quality Bluegrass Distillers bourbon for almost seven years now, ” says co-founder and owner Sam Rock. “We couldn’t have gotten to this point without the support of our community and team. We’re excited to finally share this bourbon with everyone.”

There will only be 200 bottles available for pre-purchase, retailing for $55. The bourbon will be available for pre-order online starting July 6th and ready for pick up on July 20th. More bottles will be available for in-store purchase. The remaining bottles will be distributed to select locations. Please visit the Bluegrass Distillers website for an updated list of distributors and locations.
